My last post here on Substack several months ago dealt with hope. When I was searching for a “word of the year” for 2025, guess what wouldn’t go away?
Hope.
I cannot shake it, nor do I really want to.
Even when it’s exhausting and scary and just plain hard.
I began the year with jury duty on stormy snow days. I saw both the evil and the good of humanity that week.
I started the spring semester with classes I’ve taught, but all in different formats than before. For whatever reason, that shift has thrown me sideways in many ways, and I’m still trying to find my footing.
Mostly this is a rambling post, just to say I’m still here, I’m still hopeful even in the crazy and hard days, and I hope (pun intended) you too can find some hope for better times ahead.
With you on "hope" -- and connection ... xx
